Understanding Color and Material in LED Panel Lights

LED panel lights are designed in such a way that they allow for better illumination than traditional lights. They are the modern type of fluorescent ceiling lights. However, unlike fluorescent ceiling lights, LED panel lights are less costly, more energy-efficient, and eco-friendlier. In this write-up, we look at LED panel light colors and materials.

The material used to make LED panel lights

The materials used to make LED Panel Lights differ from one part of the light to the other. Below are some of the materials by part;

Frame- the frame is made of aluminum. The reason why aluminum is used is that it is a great channel for heat dissipation. Aluminum is also one of the cheapest materials in the market, as well as one of the most durable. Other materials that can be used to make the frame include arsenide and gallium. However, these materials are usually combined with impurities. The role of the impurities is to allow for the creation of free electrons. The impurities also help to enhance the conductivity of the semiconductor.

Light guide plate- the light guide plate is usually made of pure MMA resin. The reason why MMA resin is used is that it is transparent and very durable. The material is also resistant to different weather elements hence its efficiency.

Diffuser panel-the diffuser panel is usually made using either acrylic, PC, or PS materials. Acrylic is the most preferred type of diffuser panel material because it is more cost-efficient. On the other hand, the PC is more expensive but has more superior resistance to aging. This feature is what makes the material costlier.

Rear cover- the rear cover of LED panel lights is also made of aluminum. The reason is also that the aluminum material contributes to the heat decapitation.

Color elements of LED panel lights

LED panel lights, like other types of LED lights, are available in a wide range of colors. The most common color in the market is neutral, warm, or cool white. Another aspect of color is color temperature. Color temperature can be defined as where the color falls on the Kelvin Spectrum, usually between blue and red. Light colors like blue usually have a higher Kelvin Spectrum rating.

On the other hand, warm temperatures like red usually have a lower Kelvin Spectrum rating. This means that the neutral light options fall in the range of 5500 Kelvins while the other ones fall around the range of 2200K. The choice of color and color temperature is greatly dependent on the application of the LED panel light. For instance, you can use blue or red for entertainment areas within the house and different types of white for factories and hospitals.

Conclusion

One of the main reasons why LED panel lights are popular is that they are customizable. The fact that they are thin means that they can be shaped into any form depending on the user’s desire. This allows them to be applied in different areas. LED panel lights have more applications compared to traditional ceiling lights. They are also more energy and cost-efficient than their counterparts.
